Some training centres offer the City and Guilds 2330 level 2 on a fast track basis, which would probably take around eight weeks to complete if you train full time. Prices vary so check with your local training centre for more information. During your course you will gain in depth technical knowledge which is great for novices or even if you are currently working in the electrical industry and you want to improve the depth of your technical knowledge, and also taking this course would mean you wouldn’t have to complete a formal apprenticeship.
If you choose the fast track course which will be spread over eight weeks, 50% of the course will be practical work. The course will help you gain all your foundation knowledge for those who want to undertake electrical work whether in domestic, commercial or industrial premises.
During your course you will learn all the relevant skills required in order to become a fully competent electrician including, workshop practice, electrical principles, installation theory, which will support all the practical skills that you will carry out as you train and during your time as a fully qualified electrician. You will also be able to work safely and effectively, gain knowledge on electro technology, fully understand health and safety regulations, and you will be able to carry out installation on structures and buildings.
Your training centre will have a designated training area and classrooms where the theory lessons will take place before you are able to enter the workshops to put all that theory into practice. The practical training bays will be fully equipped with training boards that meet with City and Guilds requirements as well as all the materials and tools that you will need in order to successfully complete all your electrical tasks.
You will be taught by experienced instructors who will train you up so that you meet with City and Guilds industry standards, your instructors are always on hand if you need any help or guidance and they will be every step of the way.
The City and Guilds 2330 level 2 is a formal trade qualification and meets with City and Guilds standards. Once you have successfully completed this course you can progress further into the electrical industry.
